What to Expect on Surgery Day
Surgery day can feel like a big moment. Our goal is to make it feel calm, supportive, and seamless from the moment you arrive.
Arriving at the Surgery Center
You will arrive at our Boutique Surgery Center at your scheduled check in time and be welcomed by our all female nursing team. They will take your vitals, review your information, and help you change into your surgical gown so you can get comfortable.
Meeting Your Surgeon
Once you are settled, Dr. Kulkarni will come in to meet with you. She will review the surgical plan, answer any last minute questions, and carefully mark your body in preparation for surgery. This step is an important part of creating thoughtful, personalized results.
Anesthesia and Final Preparation
After markings are complete, Dr. Speight, your anesthesiologist, will meet with you. She will place your IV, review anesthesia, and make sure you feel relaxed and at ease before heading to the operating room.
Walking Into the Operating Room
When it is time, you will walk into the operating room with our team by your side. Anesthesia is administered, and before you know it, surgery is complete.
Waking Up in Recovery
You will wake up in our recovery bay with our nurses right there with you. Your comfort will be closely monitored as the anesthesia wears off, and we will make sure you feel ready before going home.
Heading Home
All patients return home the same day. When it is time to leave, the person picking you up will arrive, and one of our nurses will be right there to help you comfortably into their vehicle.
For those staying at the Fairmont as part of our recovery packages, a nurse will gently wheel you across the street to the hotel and help you get settled in your room.
With our Gold and Platinum Packages, one of our dedicated nurses will remain with you, offering attentive care and reassurance as you begin your recovery.
